Francesca Buonanno holds a Degree from the University of Pisa and the Advanced Diploma in Cities and Urban Development from the New York University- School of Professional Studies.

She has over 15 years of international experience working for public, private, and civil society organizations in the design, delivery, and intelligence for innovation, entrepreneurship, and social change. From 2013 to 2017 she has been working for FGB in the USA developing:

• the Italy US bridge platform for start-ups and SMEs working on social innovation.

• the European Platform on Open Innovation partnering with USAID under the framework of the global innovation exchange

Francesca has actively supported and implemented several international calls for solutions targeted at innovators and entrepreneurs under the framework of the Open Innovation programme run by FGB, looking for new technologies, products, and platforms aimed at promoting economic, environmental, and social sustainability in cities.
